As the orchestra in residence at the KKL, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra has developed into a top orchestra far beyond the country’s borders over the past 20 years. The Arthur Waser Foundation supports the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra in several areas with which the LSO proves its great ability to break new ground. For the Foundation, a special highlight is the Arthur Waser Prize, which is awarded every two years by the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra to young, outstanding soloists. In addition, the Arthur Waser Foundation also supports the orchestra’s social engagement, its lunch concerts and the rediscovery of seldom performed masterpieces. The Arthur Waser Foundation also made significant contributions to the construction of the rehearsal house at the Südpol, and it made possible the purchase of a high-quality grand piano.
