Ashesi University started teaching in Ghana in 2002 as a private, non-profit and non-denominational institution in tertiary education. Its 100-acre campus is located in Berekuso overlooking the capital Accra. Ashesi’s mission is to advance the education of ethical, entrepreneurial leaders needed to transform the African continent.
With an academic program developed in collaboration with some of the best universities in the world, Ashesi has created an educational model unique to Africa. It combines a multidisciplinary core with degree programs in computer science, business administration, management information systems, and engineering. Today, Ashesi is considered one of Africa’s best universities, with a proven track record of fostering ethical leadership. In 2020, it ranked first in Ghana, ninth in Africa, and among the top 400 universities in the world in the Global Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings.
