Before submitting your application, please check whether your project meets the funding criteria. Please enter your project electronically via the Application Platform.

To enter your application we kindly ask you for a one-time registration. With your Login you will have access to all your applications.

Please fill in at least the marked mandatory fields and upload the mandatory documents. In case we require any further information or documents, we will contact you. Should you face any trouble submitting your application, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We need a lead time of several weeks to properly review your application. Ideally, you submit your application to us about 6 months ahead of project implementation. The board meetings in 2024 take place quarterly. Decisions are communicated in writing , within two months of the meeting.

  • Deadline for February meeting: 17 January 2024
  • Deadline for May meeting: 3 April 2024
  • Deadline for September meeting: 14 August 2024
  • Deadline for November meeting: 23 October 2024

Applications received after the respective submission deadline will be dealt with at the following meeting. Retrospective funding and deficit coverage cannot be approved.

Endowments

As a private foundation, AWF is not dependent on donations. However, it is open to endowments and donations from private individuals who do not want to set up their own foundation. An intensive exchange of ideas must take place so that such endowments make sense for both sides and are in the mutual, philanthropic interest of both parties involved.

If you are interested in an endowment or donation, please contact AWF’s managing director.
